IACE seeks schools to participate in PROACT CS Longitudinal Study

March 18, 2025
Do you want evidence that your students are learning computer science? Do you want to learn how students' perspectives about computer science are changing? Do you want to receive an annual report that provides this information with recommendations at no cost?

In collaboration with a broader consortium of non-profits, departments of education, industry, and researchers, the Institute for Advancing Computing Education (IACE) is currently recruiting high schools and affiliated middle schools for a 7-year longitudinal study to explore how students approach CS learning, how they gain CS knowledge, and what drives their interest.

Participating schools will:
  • Gain evidence-based, detailed insights to boost teaching practices and policies related to student outcomes (annually)
  • Receive implementation support
  • Contribute to meaningful research
  • Be part of a community shaping CS and STEM education
The study involves an approximate 10-minute survey given to students once a year and teachers/staff every other year.
It looks at the EXPERIENCE part of the CAPE Framework.
